AIMI Faculty

The American Institute for Mental Imagery (AIMI) is dedicated to providing educational services for healthcare providers and the public. Our mission is to improve the physical, emotional and spiritual growth wellbeing of all individuals, and to train health and wellness professionals within these transformative modalities.

Rachel Epstein, L.Ac., J.D. is the director and co-founder of the American Institute for Mental Imagery (AIMI). Rachel has trained and practiced in imagery for over 30 years. Grounded in both Western and Eastern Spiritual Traditions, Rachel currently teaches AIMI’s core curriculum and offers private coaching sessions for clients. She’s been described as “the human version of an exhale,” a grounding force dedicated to learning with you, harnessing your own unique path for healing and autonomy.

Randy Kasper

Randy Kasper

L.C.S.W., Ph.D.

Dr. Randy Kasper, L.C.S.W., Ph.D., is a licensed social worker in California and New York State and a graduate of AIMI. She currently runs the School of Imagery and Health on the West Coast, where she also maintains a private practice. She has helped to create and/or oversee hospital-based programs for Chemical Dependency, Domestic Violence and Employee Assistance in Texas, New York and California. Randy is on faculty at California State University (MSW program) and Alliant International University (Forensic PsyD program). She has served on the Board of Imagery International. She is a Board Certified Diplomate, a BBS-approved provider of Continuing Education (State of California).

Dr. Jackie D. Schiff, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist and a graduate of AIMI with over 25 years of experience in private practice in New York, London and in Israel. Dr. Schiff offers a multi-faceted approach with a broad and deep range of modalities including timeless ancient wisdom rooted in the Bible, to the latest in modern psychology and neuroplasticity of the brain. This mind/body/soul integrative therapy goes beyond mindfulness to include healing visualizations/mental imagery, breathing techniques, cognitive psychology, psychodynamic psychology, and relational psychology. In lectures and workshops internationally, Dr. Schiff teaches people to access powerful natural internal resources to stand strong, reignite creativity & take confident action.

Lydia Craigmyle

Lydia Craigmyle

Ph.D.

Lydia Craigmyle, Ph.D., a graduate of AIMI, is a licensed New York State psychologist who practices integrative mindbody therapy with an emphasis on mental imagery. She worked at Washington Square Institute and conducted research at Harvard University’s Maclean Hospital. Dr. Craigmyle specializes in the mother- daughter relationship. She also incorporates a natural breathing method, developed by Carl Stough, to reduce anxiety and depression. She has recently developed an innovative therapeutic technique called “The Craigmyle Calming Technique” to restore balance and health.

AIMI BOARD

The American Institue for Mental Imagery (AIMI) is chartered by the New York State Regents to train clinicians in the Gerald Epstein Medical Model (GEMS) integrative healing system. Founded in 1982, we are a women owned and operated non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational and clinical healthcare services.

Rachel Epstein, L.Ac., J.D. is the director and co-founder of the American Institute for Mental Imagery (AIMI).

Colin Greer, Ph.D.

Dr. Colin Greer has been the President of the New World Foundation since 1985. Formerly, he was a Professor at Brooklyn College, CUNY. He is a published author, poet, and playwright.

Frances Labarre, Ph.D.

Dr. Frances LaBarre, Ph.D., is a psychologist-psychoanalyst in private practice in NYC where she works with individual adults, children, and couples.

Randy Kasper, Ph.D., L.C.S.W., B.C.D.

Dr. Randy Kasper, Ph.D., is a licensed social worker in California and New York State and a graduate of AIMI. She currently runs the School of Imagery and Health.

Sarah Epstein, M.A.

Sarah Epstein, M.A., is the newest member of AIMI’s Board of Directors. She is a imagery coach specializing in sex and relationships. Sarah has a formal background in addiction treatment, imagery, dreambirth, dreamwork, morphology, and an informal background in plant medicine. She holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from The New School for Social Research.

Julia Machina, M.A. is AIMI’s Director of Communications. She has been working for the organization since 2021, and is currently pursuing a Clinical Psychology Ph.D. from The New School for Social Research.
